Mila, the
Wedding Doula
I grew up between France and America, shaped by two very different relationships to love, beauty, intimacy, and celebration. Born in Paris and now living in the hills of Marin, I’ve always been drawn to the moments that change us: the spaces between who we were and who we are becoming.
Years ago, while planning my own wedding in the South of France, I became fascinated by the emotional terrain that exists beneath wedding planning: the hopes, pressures, expectations, tenderness, and transformations that surface along the way. I saw firsthand how easy it is for couples to become consumed by the production of a wedding while losing space for the actual relationship beneath it all. I remember wishing there had been more support for the emotional, relational, and ritual journey into marriage.
At the same time, I was spending the last decade working in experience design and creative direction, crafting experiences designed to make people feel deeply present and connected, while also becoming more deeply rooted in the worlds of yoga, somatics, ritual, and embodiment.
Over time, those paths naturally came together to create The Wedding Doula: a space devoted to helping couples move through the journey into marriage with greater presence, intention, intimacy, and connection.
